The maintenance of solid wood furniture - Wanda Collection

N.B. : Instructions are sent out with each piece of furniture.

Protection:

Wanda Collection suggest you only protect surfaces that are likely to be stained such as unit tops. With untreated teak and mindi you can choose the right treatment for you from those available on the market. Please note that these treatments cannot guarantee to protect against staining.

You have two solutions :

- Colourless matt-drying beeswax : Preserves the wood's natural appearance. Can be applied with a soft cloth every year, depending on usage.

- Special colourless matt-drying fatwood varnish : This protective varnish is almost invisible when applied and goes on in several layers. Your furniture will stay protected over time.

Care :

A damp cloth and mild soap will be enough. Avoid aggressive soaps like solvents and bleach as such products can leave marks and adversely affect furniture protection. For ingrained stains and scratches, you will need to sand and re-treat the whole surface. Caution! Do not use oils on exotic woods like teak or mindi as this will affect the colour. Oils are only suitable for woods like mahogany.

Precautions :

Do not put your furniture near a heat source; do not use your furniture while it is unprotected or stubborn marks may result. Sudden temperature and humidity changes may affect your furniture. It is inadvisable to store your furniture in a cold garage over winter before suddenly bringing it indoors.
